Dear High School Principals, MUN Directors and Teachers, We are glad to announce our first Model United Nations conference: ITU International Model United Nations (IIMUN) 2011 which will be held at ITU Development Foundation Schools Private Ekrem Elginkan High School. We would be honored if you attend our conference which will take place between 17th and 20th November 2011, in Istanbul, Turkey. Our conference will draw attention to the fundamental problems all around the world. The focus will be on solutions and ways to make our world a better and more secure place to live in. We aim to have logical and strong resolutions. Our theme is “Aspire to Inspire!” Through this conference we hope to provide a unique opportunity for high school students to become more productive, while developing strong friendships and bonds. IIMUN will be comprised of The General Assembly, The Security Council and the Special Focus Council on the Arab League. IIMUN involves participants from both national and international schools, private and public. Schools applying for the Security Council, or for the Special Focus Council should complete the appropriate form on the website, stating previous experience at MUN conferences. These councils are privileged and challenging councils which have very small quotas. Therefore, we require information to decide if delegates are suitable for these two special councils. Delegates applying for the position of student officer need to fill out the form located here. After consideration of the application, the IIMUN Team will direct the applicants to the Head of Student Officers for further information. Delegates who are interested in applying to the Press Corps will be required to fill out the Press Corps application form on the website. Students from a foreign country attending our conference will be guided to the designated hotes or hosted by the IIMUN Team. They will be directed to the Head of Logistics after the application is accepted. Students attending our conference from other cities can also get further information about accommodation from the Head of Logistics. All important deadlines, schedules and participation fees can be found on our website.
